Piano teaching

Since the age of 19, Gaia dedicates herself to teaching, following the strong convinction that knowledge has no value if it’s not shared.

To teach piano is an activity which brings together her passions: to play, to deepen the repertoire, to improve constantly as an artist and to share all this with her pupils.

The journey with each pupil has enriched both and left something indelible. The teacher contributes to the education of the person, as well as of the instrumentist, and this is a way to participate in the growth of society. The study of music brings us to learn countless capacities, which go beyond the simple dimension of the instrument.

To teach effectively it’s necessary to have a deep knowledge of the instrument, as well as pedagogical skills. To teach and to study for one’s self are not two separated activities, but each draws stimulation and enrichment from the other.

Pushed by the desire of deepening the pedagogical aspects essentials to teach, in 2015 Gaia acquires the Master in musical pedagogy with a thesis on the developpement of the musical pitch in the first phase of pianistic education, which you can read clicking here.

Having moved to Lausanne, she teaches at the Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in 2017 and 2019 and at the Ecole Arts d’Essence from 2017 to 2021.
